Sirius have ordered two new Ice Class 1A, 7999 DWT oil/chemical tankers at AVIC Dingheng shipyard in China.
The newbuild Coralius is designed to fulfill the requirements of a fully IGC-classified vessel, while also taking into account anticipated future standards and charterers’ requirements.
In 2010, Sirius Shipping’s chemical tanker Olympus became the first in the world to reduce its NOx emissions by 90 per cent by retrofitting.
SIRIUS Shipping was founded by the Backman family, on time-honoured Donsö, in Gothenburg's southern archipelago. Despite its profound expertise and deep roots in traditional shipping, the company has always shown the courage to think and act differently to help its customers boost their capacity while creating more eco-friendly maritime transport.
